What the Photographs Mean to the Artist:
Brooklyn Bridge’s visionary architecture and engineering are awe-inspiring. For me, Brooklyn Bridge finds meaning in the thousands of people who cross it every day. The Bridge's gigantic steel ropes provide a real-life theatre that hang in the sky with thousands of tiny silhouettes “acting” on this grand set each and every day: locals going to work, New Yorkers who love to stroll this path and tourists. Humans “gliding” in air, in perfect harmony with their surroundings. Viewed from this perspective, Brooklyn Bridge – as a stage high up in the sky - gives new meaning to NYC's life.
